HARARE: Zimbabwe is set to make history this week by hosting the International Cricket Council (ICC) Board and Committee meetings for the first time.

The meetings, organized by Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC), will take place in Harare on April 10 and 11, before moving to the iconic Victoria Falls from April 12 to 13, 2025.

Key delegates from the global cricket community, including ICC Chairman Jay Shah and various ICC Board members, are expected to attend.

These high-level meetings will address vital governance, strategic, and operational issues that will shape the future of cricket worldwide.

Tavengwa Mukuhlani, Chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket, expressed pride in hosting the prestigious event.

“This is a proud and historic moment for Zimbabwe Cricket and our nation. We are fully prepared to welcome these esteemed leaders and showcase the beauty, warmth, and hospitality of Zimbabwe,” Mukuhlani said.

He also highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “It underscores Zimbabwe’s growing role in the global cricket landscape and provides a unique platform to engage with stakeholders in shaping the future of the game.”

This even comes as Zimbabwe is constructing a multi-purpose stadium in Victoria Falls to host matches for the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.

The government has allocated 10 hectares of land in the Masuwe Special Economic Zone for Tourism for the project.

The new 10,000-seat venue will stage games during the 2026 ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup jointly hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia.

It will then be a venue for the 2027 senior Cricket World Cup held across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
