UNITED KINGDOM: Zimfest has changed venues for 2026 and will be moving to a new location in Northamptonshire, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the UK’s largest celebration of Zimbabwean culture, music and heritage.

Organisers confirmed that Zimfest 2026 will take place on 25 July 2026 at Delapré Abbey in Northamptonshire, selected for its improved train access and ample parking options.

The decision reflects a renewed focus on improving traffic management, accessibility and the overall customer experience, while preserving the spirit that has made the festival a cornerstone of the Zimbabwean diaspora calendar.

Tawanda Chiwira, spokesperson for Zimfest said: “For almost five years, Hertfordshire Showground has been home to Zimfest.

“It is a site steeped in memories; breakthrough performances from emerging artists, headline moments from established acts and thousands coming together to celebrate.

“We are grateful for the milestones and the sense of community created there. Our move to Northamptonshire will allow us to deliver the best possible experience for everyone who attends.”

Founded as a celebration of Zimbabwean culture in the UK, Zimfest has become a major event, drawing thousands from across the UK and beyond.

Held annually in the summer, the festival blends live music performances and DJ sets with traditional Zimbabwean food, fashion, arts and family-friendly activities.

Its soundscape is deliberately broad, spanning Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall and traditional Zimbabwean music, reflecting both heritage and contemporary African culture.

The organisers emphasised that while the setting is changing, the essence of Zimfest remains firmly intact: a joyful, inclusive space that brings together Zimbabweans, the wider Southern African community and anyone who loves African culture.

Details of the full 2026 artist line-up will be announced in due course. Jah Prayzah has already been confirmed as the headline act, with Sulu Chimbetu and Chillmaster also set to perform.

Organisers say the programme will honour Zimfest’s roots while continuing to showcase emerging voices and fresh sounds. Tickets are on sale now and selling quickly.

As preparations begin for its Northamptonshire debut, Zimfest is being positioned not as a break from the past, but as an evolution – one shaped by its community, and driven by a commitment to making the festival experience as vibrant, welcoming and memorable as the culture it celebrates.
