Zimbabwe and Chiefs legend gets front row seat for coaching job
By KickOff.com
Retired midfield workhorse Willard Katsande has found himself with a front row seat for his big break in coaching.
Katsande spent 10 years at Kaizer Chiefs arriving as an unknown from Ajax Cape Town before leaving as an undisputed legend having put his heart and soul into every minute he played.
Now, just over three years since he called time on his playing career after a brief spell at Sekhukhune United, he is knitting together his coaching career.
With the Kitoko Soccer School that he founded now operating under SAFA structures, the 40-year-old has his name under consideration for the Zimbabwe national Under-23 job.

Katsande played for the Zimbabwe senior national team and was captain at the 2017 AFCON finals.
This website has gathered that his CV has been placed in the ZIFA inbox and being considered for the job as an emerging coach.
Giving Katsande the edge is that he has done two of his CAF coaching badges and has placed a commitment towards continuous learning.
Katsande already holds respect for the work he has done in the development ranks with his academy and has taken interest in developing a database of players eligible to play for Zimbabwe’s youth national teams.
Sources have told this website that the former midfield enforcer has been endorsed by some within the technical committee.
Zimbabwe’s Young Warriors have 2027 Under-23 AFCON qualifiers which will provide the pathway to the 2028 Olympic Games.
There will also be qualifiers for the 2027 All Africa Games – now known as African Games – to be held in Egypt.
