HARARE: The Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS), the country’s premier exhibition, is set to be held at the end of next month.

ZAS is an annual six-day show that provides a one-stop solution for business and agriculture value chain players, often attracting about 200,000 people.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere told the media on Tuesday that the 114th edition of the event will be held from Aug 26 to 31 under the theme “Cultivating Prosperity: Growing Business. Innovating for Change. Nurturing our Future”.

“To date, 52 218 square metres of the available 78 224 square metres for commercial exhibitions has been taken up by 208 exhibitors,” he said.

Exhibitors from Pakistan, Japan, Netherlands, Brazil, Italy, Malawi, Botswana, South Africa and Turkey have shown interest in participating at this year’s ZAS, according to the report.

Muswere said great emphasis has been put on safety and security of both exhibitors and visitors, with wider and more modern CCTV cameras having been installed, in addition to the use of drones.
