BIRMINGHAM: A man has been charged over the death of a Zimbabwe-born father in Walsall as his heartbroken children have issued a touching tribute to their “hero” dad.

Kevin Taylor, aged 51, was found unconscious in Lichfield Street shortly before 5am on December 7, prompting police to launch an investigation.

Kejuan Malone, of Hall Green, was arrested following the incident and charged with manslaughter on Monday (December 9) night.

The 32-year-old is due to appear before Walsall Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Now, Mr Taylor’s children have released a touching tribute to him.

In the tribute issued by West Midlands Police, they said: “Dad, you were our hero, a guiding light who taught us love, kindness, and resilience.

A blessing to all who knew him

“Your generosity and unwavering support touched so many lives, and your memory will forever live in our hearts. We love you deeply and will honour your legacy always.”

The parents of Taylor, who is also known as Taisekwa, said they would miss him dearly.

The tribute read: “Our beloved son Taisekwa, your kindness and compassion were a blessing to all who knew you.

“You brought joy and pride to our lives, and your selflessness touched hearts far and wide.

“Though you are gone, your legacy of love will forever remain with us. We will miss you dearly, our precious child.”

West Midlands Police said it is continuing with his investigation and has urged witnesses or those with video footage to get in touch via Live Chat on its website.
