By BBC News
UNITED KINGDOM: The family of a woman who died in a crash on a dual carriageway in Nottinghamshire has paid tribute to her and say she will “forever be in our hearts”.
Emergency services were called to a stretch of the A46 at Screveton, near Bingham, at about 22:30 GMT on Saturday following a collision involving two cars and a van.
Sithembile Kona, 49, from Mapperley in Nottingham, was pronounced dead at the scene, Nottinghamshire Police said,
In a tribute released on Friday, her family described her as a “beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend”.
It said: “She is survived by her son, Kudakwashe, and mother in Zimbabwe.
“Her sudden passing is a devastating loss to her family and friends in the UK, Zimbabwe, and around the world.
“Our darling Sithembile, thank you for everything you have done for us. Forever in our hearts.”
Following the crash, the southbound side of the dual carriageway remained closed until about 15:00 on Sunday.
Sarah Butler, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Sithembile’s family and officers will continue to help them during this very difficult time.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to get in touch.”
