Reading are keen to sign Tivonge Rushesha following his exit from Swansea City, as per a report by the Reading Chronicle.

Reading have been taking a look at the youngster on trial over recent times and have been impressed.

Rushesha, 20, is available after Swansea decided against extending his contract at the end of last season.

The Reading Chronicle report that he has featured for the Royals in their recent pre-season friendly clashes against the likes of Southampton, QPR and his former club the Swans.

Reading eyeing deal

Reading could see Rushesha as a risk-free addition as they prepare for life in League One next term after their relegation from the Championship. It has been a turbulent summer for the Berkshire outfit so far and they could do with some more reinforcements before the new campaign begins this weekend at home to Peterborough United.

Rushesha would give them more competition and depth in their squad. He also has the potential to grow and develop in the future and has plenty of time on his side.

The Wales youth international, who was born in Zimbabwe, rose up through the academy ranks of the Swans and was a regular for the Welsh outfit at their various youth levels, most recently their Under-21’s side.

He didn’t make a senior appearance for the Championship club though and they made the difficult decision to cut ties with him at the end of June when his contract expired.

Rushesha has since been weighing up his options and has been keeping fit by playing for Reading. It appears he has done enough to warrant a permanent switch and the club are apparently interested in securing him for good with the new season five days away now.
