After UK benchmarking, ZIFA learns from Germany giants Bayern Munich

By Agencies
The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) leadership visited newly-crowned Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, recently to learn from them.
ZIFA confirmed that its president, Nqobile Magwizi, and the Warriors coach, Michael Nees, visited Bayern Munich last week and held discussions with the club’s head of match and tactics, analysis, and scouting Markus Brunnschneider.
“The agenda? Exploring exciting cooperation opportunities between ZIFA and FC Bayern, aimed at knowledge exchange and strategic development geared towards unlocking Zimbabwe’s football potential on the global stage!,” ZIFA’s statement reads.
Magwizi has been busy rebuilding Zimbabwe football after a one-year ban and Covid-19 effects slowed down the country’s football growth.
The ZIFA boss recently had an exchange visit to the South African Football Association before proceeding to the United Kingdom to launch Roots & Dreams initiative.
The initiative offers footballers with Zimbabwe roots in Diaspora to consider featuring for the Warriors.
“ZIFA remains committed to ensuring that our national teams reflect the very best of Zimbabwe – at home and abroad,” the statement adds.
