Dynamos complete double over CAPS as Highlanders falter in Hwange heat

CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League giants Dynamos completed a double over rivals CAPS United in the Harare Derby contest on Sunday.

A solitary goal by Nyasha Chintuli was enough to hand a second defeat to CAPS United this season at the hands of their bitter rivals.

The defeat further compounds CAPS United’s woes as they stretch their winless run to nine games, and leave them hovering just above the relegation zone.

On the other hand, for Dynamos, the win boosts thier chances in the fight for the title, although they remain nine points behind Ngezi Platinum who have a game more.

In other matches the Hwange heat was too much for Highlanders who fell 0-1 to the coal miners.

Highlanders failed to replicate last week’s performance when they beat Yadah Stars 2-0.

The defeat leaves Bosso four points behind league leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars who are on 48.

Ngezi Platinum, meanwhile strengthened their hold on top spot with a convincing three-nil victory over ZPC Kariba on Saturday.

The win was a statement of intent by Ngezi who are gunning for their maiden Championship in the top-flight league.

Elsewhere, Manica Diamonds suffered a title bid setback after falling to struggling Black Rhinos.

Diamonds were outsmarted by Rhinos with the army side emerging 1-2 victors.
