Born and raised in Zimbabwe. Tallent Ncube is a 30-year-old pencil sketch artist who is based in Sandton.

He came to South Africa at the age of 14, for better education. He went to Taalnet School at Kempton Park and later did a short art course with Open Window.

“I had to relocate to South Africa actually for school because of the conditions I have been through, getting a good education was a challenge at home. When I came to this side I had to shift focus and do art to make quick money,” said Tallent Ncube.

He got his inspiration from Solomon Mokutso, a painting artist and his art contributes to the community by inspiring other people and young artists. The theme of his art is called ‘The Journey to the City of Dreams, the City of Version, and the City of Gold’.

He started his art project back in 2019 where he has been teaching young artists how to draw and paint for free.

“I teach those who are passionate about art for free, I do that to give back to the community,” said Ncube.

He desires that people might value art and learn more about it since he believes that not enough people value the work that artists perform.
