PSL games proceed after ZIFA confusion
By Sports Reporter
CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) will resume this weekend after uncertainty and confusion over the matchday 27 fixtures.
Earlier this week, PSL informed its clubs that it was going on a break to pave the way for the Zimbabwe national team to play its friendly game against Botswana.
However, the international friendly was canned by the ZIFA normalisation committee after it failed to pin down Botswana for the encounter.
PSL was forced to continue with its matchday 27 fixtures despite some clubs having released their players for a break.
Still, Dynamos and Manica Diamonds have received a break after the former lodged a complaint for its encounter with the latter to be iced as its coach and two players are with the national team.
The Warriors are in camp this weekend as they prepare for world cup qualifiers to be held next month.
In the PSL encounters, Ngezi Platinum will host inconsistent Chicken Inn on Saturday as they look to rail its campaign back on track.
Ngezi Platinum hosts Chicken Inn on the back of their loss against FC Platinum last week giving a chance for the latter to close in on them.
FC Platinum on the other hand will travel to Kariba for an encounter with relegation-threatened ZPC Kariba.
The two sides have contrasting fortunes with Platinum fighting for the title whilst ZPC Kariba are looking to escape relegation.
On Sunday CAPS United hosts Sheesham at the National Sports Stadium aiming for a victory as they seek consistency after winning in Hwange last week.
Makepekepe will be buoyed by its fans who will be home for the first time since June after National Sports was suspended to host games.
