Military removed from Health Ministry as Mnangagwa reshuffles Perm Secs; Nick Mangwana stays at Infor Ministry
By Staff Reporter
PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa revealed the top leadership of the government bureaucracy Friday with highlights including the complete return of the health ministry to civilian leadershp.
Dr Jasper Chimedza, a soldier who was permanent secretary for health when Vice President Constantino was health minister, did not retain the position in the new line-up of permanent secretaries.
His removal follows that of Chiwenga and his deputy, Dr John Mangwiro, who is also the vice president’s personal physician.
Another notable change was at the agriculture ministry where John Basera, best performing bureaucrat in terms of Mnangagwa’s own performance assessment, was moved to the local government ministry.
Elsewhere, Nick Mangwana, retained his position at the information ministry despite his former boss Monica Mutsvangwa having been moved to the ministry of women’s affairs.
