Motherwell have confirmed Tawanda Maswanhise will not take part in Zimbabwe’s upcoming friendly matches after reporting “a small issue” following Saturday’s goalless draw with Hibernian.
The 23-year-old, who is the Scottish Premiership’s top scorer this season, was due to travel to for a Four Nations Tournament in Botswana this week.
However, the Fir Park club have announced the forward has suffered a minor problem and he will remain in Scotland “to manage the issue”.

Maswanhise played the entirety of Saturday’s 0-0 stalemate with fellow European hopefuls Hibs but failed to add to his tally of 16 league goals in the draw.
He had been among the internationals called up by Warriors Head Coach Marian Marinica for this upcoming weekend’s FIFA international window.
Commenting as he announced his squad earlier this month, Marinica said, We are looking forward to this FIFA window and the opportunity to work with the players in a competitive environment.
“We have selected a squad that gives us experience, energy and quality, and this tournament will be important in helping us continue building the team in the right direction.”
Zimbabwe set to take part in the Botswana Four Nations Tournament in Francistown on 28 March and 31 March.
The tournament also includes fellow COSAFA sides Zambia and Malawi.
