By Agencies
Ireland have named a 17-member squad for the right limited-overs games in Zimbabwe in January.
The experienced Laura Delany will lead two separate squads for three ODIs and five T20Is in Zimbabwe in January next year.
Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Thailand, UAE, USA, Vanuatu, Uganda and Zimbabwe will be part of a ten-team Global Qualifier, which will determine the final two T20 World Cup 2024 spots.
“This tour marks the start of a big 12 months for the senior squad, with a busy home and away schedule planned and the potential of a T20 World Cup towards the back end of the year,” Ciara O’Brien, selector for Ireland Women, said.
“As such, the Zimbabwe series is a crucial part of our preparations and it is always a competitive challenge when these sides meet.
