FRANCE: Olympique Lyonnais striker Tino Kadewere is expected to travel to Nantes on Wednesday, who have made him their attacking priority.

The former Le Havre player could be loaned out until the end of the season with a very low mandatory purchase option.

After confirming the arrival of winger Bénie Traoré, FC Nantes will continue their search for attacking options to Lyon.

Deprived of Nigeria’s Moses Simon and Egypt’s Mostafa Mohamed during the AFCON, the Canaries have been in talks with Kadewere for several weeks.

The Zimbabwean striker (27 years old, 19 caps), author of several incisive interventions during Lyon’s good run in Ligue 1 (3 wins in a row), is expected Wednesday at La Jonelière, with the two clubs understood to be very close to an agreement.

The former Le Havre man could be loaned out until the end of the season with a very low mandatory purchase option, which will be exercised if Nantes stay up, and with a percentage on resale.

Kadewere is under contract until June 2025 at Lyon, as he had recently agreed to extend his contract by one year on the same terms in order not to leave on a free transfer.

The transfer comes amidst struggles at Lyon, including failing to score or assist in his 11 appearances, predominantly as a substitute.

Coupled with missed games due to injury and coach’s decisions, the Warriors forward will be hoping the move helps rekindle his career.
