Dynamos-Highlanders game abandoned as fans go rogue; Ngezi Platinum go top

The much-anticipated battle of Zimbabwe, pitting traditional rivals, Dynamos and Highlanders was prematurely ended after the latter’s fans stormed the pitch.
Highlanders supporters went on a rampage towards the end of first half in protest at match officiating.
Dynamos were leading by two goals courtesy of strikes by Keith Madera and Frank Makarati.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officers intervened further escalating tensions at Barbourfields Stadium.
Meanwhile, Ngezi Platinum Stars overtook Highlanders to sit on top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table.
Elsewhere, Ngezi Platinum beat Manica Diamonds one-nil, leapfrogging Highlanders to the top of the league table.
In another match, CAPS United’s woes continue to mount after the Harare giants choked against defending Champions FC Platinum Saturday.
Lloyd Chitembwe’s side went down 1-2 in Zvishavane taking their winless run to seven games a worst by any team since mid-season break.
In other games, it was all joy in Chisumbanje after Green Fuel made their PSL debut at home after their ground was earlier this week was approved by football authorities.
Greenfuel beat Sheesham 1-0 in front of their fans in Chisumbanje.
Elsewhere, Chicken Inn could not replicate its last week’s form that saw the Gamecocks winning against Highlanders.
Chicken Inn blew a one goal lead to draw against a tricky city customer, Bulawayo Chiefs.
