UFC newbie Themba Gorimbo was left stunned and close to tears after Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson surprised him.

Born in Zimbabwe, ‘The Answer’ won his first UFC fight at the second time of asking in May, beating Takashi Sato. But it was his speech after his victory that caught people’s attention.

The 32-year-old emigrated to the United States, and following his first win in the octagon, revealed he had $7 in his bank account before the fight.

This led plenty of MMA stars to reach out to offer help, while his story caught the attention of The Rock, whose production company is called Seven Bucks named due to him having $7 to his name when starting out.

Posting on Twitter, Johnson shared footage of him creeping up behind Gorimbo, who was sat on a stool being interviewed in a gym in Miami.

After a few seconds, Gorimbo notices The Rock standing to his left and stares at him in disbelief as he takes the wrestler-turned Hollywood actor’s presence in.

He then brings his hands over his face and says ‘oh my god!’ before jumping up to hug Johnson.

The Rock chuckles as the pair hug, with Gorimbo burying his head in his shoulder before lifting his head and grinning from ear to ear.

Those in the gym witnessing the wholesome moment clapped.

“It’s good to see you,” The Rock says, leading Gorimbo to reply “Thank you.”

As Gorimbo wells up with emotion, the video ends with Johnson saying: “It’s good to finally meet you.”

The Rock wrote on Twitter: “We’ve never met but I had to fly to Miami to look this man in the eyes, hug him and shake his hand. I’ve been moved & motivated by his story.

“He recently won his first fight in the UFC. He had seven bucks in his bank account when he won. He sleeps on a couch in the gym. After the fight, he sold his fight gear (trunks & gloves) on line and made $7,000.

“Instead of using the money to find a place to live, he built a bush pump so his village back in Zimbabwe can have clean water. He never asked me for anything, but I just wanted to help the guy out. $7 Bucks ya know. And I felt the MANA and emotion in every hug.

“Very good and very special day.”

The Answer is expected to fight again later this year.
