South African top-flight league side Amazulu has finally unveiled Zimbabwean international Mason Mushore, who switched base this month from Highlanders.

Mushore will be wearing jersey number 24 at Usuthu, and he joins fellow country man Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya at the club. Meanwhile, AmaZulu FC star Liam Bern has revealed that a club legend was pleased to see him join the KwaZulu-Natal giants.

The 22-year-old was officially announced as a new AmaZulu in September 2025 after the defender-come-midfielder parted ways with Cape Town Spurs. Bern has revealed that his mentor, George Dearnaley, was ‘happy’ after the two-cap Bafana Bafana international sealed his transfer to Usuthu.

“He was very happy that I was able to join AmaZulu,” Bern said.

“I’m so overwhelmed, very, very happy to be an AmaZulu player. I’ve been following this club for a long time, and they have done some great things.”

Dearnaley helped AmaZulu clinch their last major trophy as he netted in the team’s 3-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs 3-1 in the 1992 Coca-Cola Cup final. The retired striker still holds the record of most goals in a single season for AmaZulu after netting 23 times in 1992.

Bern added, “I’m just so excited to be here.”

The talented player has featured in three matches and provided one assist in Usuthu colours as he dazzles under coach Arthur Zwane. The Betway Premiership will resume next month with AmaZulu hosting TS Galaxy at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on January 25.
