DJ Kay Cee finally laid to rest; burial ends bitter family feud lasting months
By Showbiz Correspondent
POPULAR DJ and events promoter, Kudzaishe Chipadza, (better known as DJ Kay Cee) was laid to rest Sunday in Zimbabwe, neary four months after he died in the United Kingdom where he was based.
The burial in Zvishavane marks an end to a bitter feud reportedly between Kay Cee’s ex-wife and his family over his burial that had threatened to spill into the UK courts.

The row was reportedly sparked by disagreements over where the late entertainer would be buried. His mother was said to have been insistng on burial in Zimbabwe while his ex-wife, who claimed next-of-keen authority, wanted him to be laid to rest in the UK.
Family members who attended the burial at Mabhula Cementry, just outside Zvishavane said the ceremony was “really a celebration of his life and finally laying him to rest”.
It followed “a hard to reach compromise between the family and his ex-wife”.
Chipadza died suddenly from suspected cardiac arrest at a UK hotel on the morning of June 2, 2025.
At the time, West Midlands police said the tragedy was not being treated as suspicious.
“We were called to an address in Glenmore Drive, Coventry, at around 7am yesterday (Monday),” said communications officer Sunil Midda in a brief response to media enquiries.
“On arrival, officers found that a man had died. His death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
