Highlanders falter again, as Ngezi Platinum miss golden chance

CHICKEN Inn inflicted Highlanders their second defeat of the season after a dominant display in the Bulawayo derby.
The Gamecocks dismantled league leaders Bosso 2-0 courtesy of second half goals by Brian Muza and Michael Charamba.
This marks the second game in a row that Highlanders have suffered a defeat after falling last weekend to FC Platinum.
The defeat narrows the gap at the top to two points with Manica Diamonds breathing in Highlanders’ neck.
Diamonds moved into second place after defeating Green Fuel 2- 0 in a Manicaland derby in Chiredzi on Saturday.
Meanwhile Ngezi Platinum Stars were left cursing themselves after missing a golden opportunity to close in on leaders Highlanders after falling to Herentals 1-2 over the weekend.

Platinum Stars went into Saturday’s game two points behind Highlanders with a victory over the students taking them on top.
Takesure Chiragwi’s charges blew the opportunity moving onto third place on the log separated by goal difference from Manica Diamonds.
In Kariba, Dynamos needed a solitary goal from defender Emmanuel Jalai to sink stubborn Cranborne Bullets.
The win continues a perfect record for Dynamos under Genesis Mangombe to five games since he took over from Herbert Maruwa.
The Glamour boys are aiming to put pressure on leaders Highlanders with whom they are separated by five points.
The old foes will meet next weekend in a battle of Zimbabwe with both teams in need of a victory.
Elsewhere, defending champions FC Platinum’s inconsistency was on display again after playing to one all stalemate against Bulawayo Chiefs.
The miners failed to build on their last week’s victory over Highlanders with their aspirations of keeping the title in their cabinet slowly fading.
